Business Manager, SCARS & Barbwire
Business Manager, SCARS & Barbwire
Location: LVK warehouse, downtown Jacksonville, FL, with regular time at HQ in Jacksonville Beach
Reports to: VP of Operations
About you: You look at a bin of returns and see opportunity. You're a hustler with an operator's discipline: you create, you sell, you run a small crew, you know your numbers, and you use AI to make manual work disappear.
You will run: Barbwire, our seconds program, and the SCARS shop. That means every return our 3PL sets aside as unfit for stock under our Returns SOP, plus every repair and trade-in, until it's sold, shipped or salvaged. You keep score three ways: empty return bins, Barbwire revenue and margin, and repairs out the door the same week they arrive.
About GORUCK
At GORUCK, we build the toughest rucking gear on the planet to equip the rucking revolution, and we back it with the SCARS Lifetime Guarantee. A lot of that gear comes back to us: returns, repairs and, soon, trade-ins. Right now too much of it sits in bins. Barbwire (Tougher than New) is how we fix that, by giving that gear a second life instead of letting it sit. It's a flagship program, not a clearance rack, and you'll build it.
What You'll Do
- Turn returns into revenue: LVK inspects every return, and most go back into stock under our Returns SOP. You review every piece they set aside as unfit and decide where it goes: clean and restock at full price, rework for Barbwire, customize, strip for parts, or donate. Hold the 3PL to the Returns SOP and flag misses to Operations. If there's something in the bins, there's work to do.
- Run the Barbwire store: Decide what gets worked on and how it sells. Photograph, list, price within agreed guardrails, and ship, without waiting weeks on HQ. Plan drops with Marketing. Protect a five-star experience, down to what goes in the box.
- Grow the supply: Keep finding new ways to bring gear back and give it a second life: patches, embroidery, one-of-a-kind builds, Built by SCARS.
- Lead the SCARS shop: Set the weekly priorities for the SCARS Lead and techs across repairs, Barbwire rework, customizations and Built by SCARS. Repairs go out the same week they arrive. Hire, schedule, track productivity, approve timecards, and hold people accountable. When the queue backs up, jump in on intake, prep, teardown, photos and packing.
- Own the numbers: Build the SCARS budget and track revenue, labor, materials and margin for repairs, Barbwire and Built by SCARS. Start in a spreadsheet and keep it scrappy and accurate until our systems catch up. Report monthly to the VP of Operations and Finance.
- Own quality and feedback: Own SCARS QC and the restock standard. Turn what comes back into regular, data-backed feedback to Product on failure patterns, so we build better gear.
- Shape the SCARS warranty: Keep a constant eye on how the SCARS Lifetime Guarantee is used, and where its wording or framework falls short. Track what comes in under it, what is and isn't covered, and what it costs, and report recommended changes to the VP of Operations as you see them.
- Buy and maintain: Purchase parts, materials and supplies within budget, and keep machines serviced.
- Start analog, then automate: Use Claude and other AI tools to cut manual work in listings, tracking and reporting. Work with our tech team to move what works into real systems: scan tracking, listings, and sales flowing into financial reporting.
- Keep it connected: Bring the shop to HQ for Built by SCARS rotations and events, and bring HQ to the shop for photo shoots and workouts.
Who You Are
- Experience: 5+ years in e-commerce, resale or recommerce, retail or warehouse operations, or running your own inventory business.

- Problem solver: You fix it today and improve it tomorrow. You're comfortable on a warehouse floor, on your feet, lifting, packing. No task is beneath you.
